Welcome to Golden Journey
After driving millions of miles and having many memories some good some bad over the last forty years as a commercial truck driver, I’ve decided to try a new adventure before retirement with the love of the great outdoors and the help and backing of my wife, but with no background and no experience in mining and after researching for hundreds of hours and watching many videos I’ve decided to purchase two claims, one in the Rocky Mountains and one in the Desert instead of trying to stake my own to save time and so I can work all year, I’ve also decided that it would be fun and maybe helpful to start a blog and take whoever wants to follow me on this adventure, all advice from experienced miners is welcome and appreciated. I’ll also be reviewing equipment that I use, the good, the bad and the ugly, SO LETS GET STARTED!
THE TRUCK
A 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2, with a pop-up camper from AToverland.com in Prescott, AZ , a 12,500 winch, a 24 gallon water tank with pump that is good for a recirculating system, 4 inch lift, Goodyear Kevlar tires, front and rear bumpers from Relentless Fabrication with tire holder, Jerry can holder, 400W solar panels with 200 AH Battery, 2000w converter, snorkel, 1000 lb helper springs. This truck will go just about anywhere and is really good at getting to those claims.
